What is Recreational Tree Climbing?
  • We use arborist rope and easy-to-learn techniques to safely climb into the trees.

 

  •  Climbers ascend by attachment to a figure eight on a bight hooked to a person's saddle with a locking carabineer. 
  • The climber pulls down on the moving rope as they slide up a special knot. 


  •  They repeat this process until they reach a branch, rest, or go as far as the rope will let them. 


     

    •  To descend, the climbers pull down on the special knot slowly inching towards the ground. 

     

    •  We have been known to get as many as 15 climbers in a tree at one time!!





    Is it Safe?

    All facilitators are required to have been certified.  Bill and Shelly's training was through Abe Winters of Tree Climbing USA.

    The climber wears a specific helmet and always remains  attached to the rope and secure saddle.
